MADRID

Many cultural, gastronomic, leisure and entertainment offers meet in Madrid, making this cosmopolitan city one of the most important tourist destinations around the world.

Madrid has one of Europe's most important historical districts, also known as "Madrid de los Austrias" (Austrias' or Habsburgs' Madrid). From its very complete cultural offer, we can highlight three of the best world's art galleries: the Prado Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Reina Sofía Museum, giving to this area the name of "Paseo del Arte"(the Art Promenade).

Due to its wide commercial offer, Madrid is considered the second European shopping destination according to a report by The Economist Intelligence Unit for 2014. The so called "Golden Mile" is a must on the shopping tourist's list. Great Spanish fashion firms such as Loewe, Amaya Arzuaga, Adolfo Domínguez, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Roberto Verino, Manolo Blahnik or Ángel Schlesser rub shoulders with international luxury icons as Channel, Armani and Valentino. This area's offer is completed with jeweller's and shoe shops and the most prestigious firms of fashion and accessories, as well as art galleries and antiques shops.
